Brass Is A Wonderful Natural Coloured Material

Brass is a fabulous looking metal whether it is old or new. It natural turns to vedegris (the same colour as the Statue Of Liberty) in time. Here is an example of the natural patination that you will see with Brass. This is creation by one of our favourite artists Nikki Taylor. You can see how the Gold colour of the Brass naturally becomes a darker and more classic colour. The speed of this effect depends on the conditions that it is in.

It is a soft metal and is highly malleable and easy to cut. This makes it an ideal material for all sorts of craft and sculpture projects.
