This is a knitted wire copper tube which naturally lays flat, but can be opened up into a tube with fantastic effect.
The wire used is flat, like a very thin and narrow copper ribbon, rather than the more usual round section.

When new it reflects light well, but as it is in a natural state, as with any copper it will change colour with exposure to the atmosphere, over time.

It is visually very effective when flat, but open it up and it can be used in many other ways too.

The knitted threads can be put under tension / stretched apart or pushed together to create different effects.

The photo includes a close-up view of the end of the tubing, to better show the flat wire used.

The tube is light in weight and it can be cut to length using shears or heavy duty scissors.

It can be over-stretched, then creased, folded and scrunched to suit a multitude of design ideas in card/scrapbooking, floristry, presentation wrapping and jewellery-making.

This is fine knitted wire copper tube which naturally lays flat, but can be opened up into a tube with fantastic effect.

It reflects light well and can be used as you would a ribbon or foil strip. However as it is a tube, even in the lay-flat state it has a depth of perspective which single layer material just doesn't.

Open it up - much like you would a finger bandage - and it can be used in many other ways too.

The knitted threads can be put under tension / stretched apart or pushed together to create different effects.

The photo shows solid spheres, which are quite heavy, solely supported by the knitted tube - in defiance of gravity! The diameter of the spheres is around twice that of the lay-flat tube width.
